Solving complex problems means building knowledge libraries, connecting ideas, and asking the right questions. I’ve honed the ability to break down challenges by assembling the right tools and frameworks. Now, I focus on creating data labs that push beyond the obvious, uncovering smarter insights and solutions.
See below how my work experience has shaped my work.
HSBC Bank
3 Years, from intern to IT Business Analyst.
At HSBC, I developed some key skills that still guide my work today. I learned how to use linear and multiple regression to predict company valuations, which was my introduction to making sense of numbers and future trends. I also became skilled in time series analysis (ARIMA), which helped me forecast stock prices and other financial metrics. It was a steep learning curve, but incredibly rewarding.
I worked extensively with statistical modeling, transforming complex financial data into actionable insights. This hands-on experience taught me to trust data-driven decision-making over gut instinct—a mindset that remains invaluable in today's increasingly data-centric world.
University of Westminster - Fabrication Labs (DD+)
3-1/2 Years, Business Analyst. (among MANY others hats).
After moving to the UK, I found myself at the University of Westminster Fabrication Labs, working alongside a startup called DD+. It was right in the middle of the dot-com boom, and every day felt like a new adventure. One minute, I was diving into my honours degree thesis at the University of Westminster Business School, and the next, I was switching gears at DD+, tackling customer support, coding, and helping shape business plans. It was the perfect blend of academic research and real-world startup chaos.
Working at DD+ was exhilarating—there was never a dull moment. I found myself juggling everything from crafting investment strategies to evaluating customer acquisition costs (CAC) and piecing together go-to-market strategies to keep us ahead of the tech curve. The fast pace and constant pivots taught me how to wear multiple hats, think on my feet, and keep everything moving forward, even when the pressure was high.
Balancing academic research and the reality of startup life gave me valuable lessons in adaptability and strategic thinking. And of course, it introduced me to a steady diet of RedBull and the occasional combo of pizza with sushi to fuel those long nights.
Blackstone
2 Years, as a Senior Business Analyst.
A few years after my startup days, I joined a team at Blackstone and Cendant Corporation, working with 13 engineers spread across three continents—with headquarters in Denver, US. Our mission was to cut global data and voice communication costs for Blackstone’s Galileo division.
We dove into Hadoop, using HDFS for storage and MapReduce to process enormous datasets. We analyzed everything from financial reports to call logs, finding both cost-saving opportunities and some unexpected gems—like discovering that the men were consistently logging in late after catching the NFL game the night before. (Apparently, the quarterback's stats were more important than clocking in on time!).
The real breakthrough came when we turned those insights into something decision-makers could act on. Using Tableau and D3.js, we built visualizations that made it all clear. At the end of two years, Blackstone saved a ton of money, and I learned that finding the right insights—and presenting them well—can make all the difference, whether you're saving millions or just solving Monday morning NFL hangovers.
IBM - Research
4 months, as a Consultant / Researcher - IBM Business Analytics Research (Cloud Technology)
During a 4-month consulting project with IBM, I had the opportunity to explore their enterprise platforms for a business analytics research project focused on financial predictions. I worked with technologies such as IBM WebSphere, Tivoli, Lotus, and DB2 to analyze datasets and enhance forecasting capabilities in financial markets. Additionally, I tested several IBM analytics tools in an effort to detect patterns for price prediction. The insights gained from this project have significantly influenced my ongoing research, including my latest work on extracting insights from candlestick chart images, where I’m considering incorporating IBM technologies..
Sonda - Consulting
2 years, as a Strategic Business Consultant and Division Corporate Manager.
I worked with Sonda Procwork, one of the biggest IT companies in Latin America, helping them launch a new cybersecurity division. The task? Introduce a corporate encryption software from Germany and create a business model that would turn a profit right out of the gate. My focus was on building a solid business strategy—everything from market positioning to a pricing strategy that would appeal to corporate clients and keep us competitive.
A big part of the work involved earning the ISO 9001 certification, which meant my team and I had to work tirelessly on creating a foundation for the certification. We built key performance indicators (KPIs) and developed dashboards that covered every division’s workflows and processes, from pre-sales to post-sales, both technical and non-technical. This included indexing data and tracking performance across all areas, making sure the processes were airtight for certification.
In the end, not only did we launch the product successfully, but we also got the ISO certification, giving us an extra edge in the competitive cybersecurity space. Along the way, I picked up some valuable skills in business strategy, market analysis, and business development—not to mention a few new words of Spanish.
Silverlink Technologies
10 years, as Investor and Business Partner.
During my 10 years at Silverlink Technologies, I had the privilege of working on some truly transformative projects in cybersecurity and data analytics, partnering with clients like Allianz Group, Cisco Systems, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Siemens, BASF, and many others.
One of the standout projects was leading the largest data encryption initiative in Latin America for Petrobras. We managed to encrypt files across 26,000 hosts in real time, overseeing more than 150,000 encryption keys through a custom-built monitoring system. It was a major challenge, but the impact was equally significant in securing sensitive data on a massive scale.
Another highlight was building a full-scale data lab for the Brazilian Stock Exchange (B3), which allowed them to process massive datasets and make quicker, more informed decisions. This project not only pushed the boundaries of what we could achieve technically, but it also delivered real business value by enabling smarter decision-making at a higher speed.
I also developed real-time analytics dashboards for several of Brazil’s Top 100 companies, giving them crucial insights to streamline operations and boost efficiency. This experience deepened my skills in data science and machine learning, and it also strengthened my ability to approach problems from both a technical and business management perspective—skills that are critical when working at the intersection of data analytics and business strategy.
At Silverlink, the focus was always on pushing the boundaries of what technology could do, and we enjoyed the process of solving complex challenges together. I left with not only advanced technical expertise but also a deeper understanding of business management and how to leverage data for entrepreneurial ventures..

After more than a decade of challenges, strugles and innovations, the founding partners decided to pursue new paths. I was capitalized enough for a solo trade, so over time, my focus naturally shifted backs towards international business analytics and financial technology, where I began building new data labs aimed at uncovering financial prediction insights and optimizing my own financial portfolios at Ocean Capital.
This transition allowed me to fully dedicate myself to my passion—developing financial prediction Data Lab as part of my investment portfolio. Drawing on my experiences from HSBC and beyond, I’ve been applying the latest research in data-driven finance to create smarter, simpler, and more efficient ways to find potential investments. Alongside this, I’m also working on my PhD research, which explores the role of data labs, business data innovation, and the broader impact of AI on society—focusing on how these technologies may shape the future of civilization.
